The Cacao Ambassador, Únagh de Brún, is the original heart and founder of this movement
A bridge between cacao-growing communities in the Pacific and the people of Aotearoa, between ancestral wisdom and contemporary care.
While the day-to-day work of the Cacao Embassy NZ is now held by Mark, Jeff, and Ngawai — anchoring the space, sharing cacao, and making the dream tangible across the country — Únagh walks the ground in the Pacific. Her work is with the farmers, the families, and the land, restoring the broken threads between the growers of cacao and the deeper truth of what they carry.
In many communities, cacao has been grown for over a century — yet few have ever tasted it or known its power.
Únagh brings knowledge, presence, and reconnection. She shares the story of cacao not just as a crop, but as a living spirit. Through education, direct support, and community-led initiatives, she helps sow the seeds of long-term change — where quality is recognised, health is understood, and thriving becomes possible.
She is the mother root of this work. Quietly, consistently, she nourishes what is unseen — until it blooms.

A voice for the farmers. An invitation for those ready to listen. A gentle revolution, one cacao bean at a time
